Introduction
Warcraft Riches (aka Derek's Gold Mastery Guide) by Derek Beachler is the most recent guide in the Warcraft Gold Making marketplace. It consists of not one, but 7 separate guides that address all the major topics and strategies any Warcraft player may face. In this review I'll give you an overview of these guides and how good a job they do at helping you earn gold in World of Warcraft.
The Intro
The ReadFirst.pdf gives you some background of the guide's author, Derek Beachler and what qualifies him to right such a guide in the first place. Derek also introduces the reader to the tools and websites he uses in regard to Warcraft and gives an overview of the structure of the guide.
Beginner's Guide
Next, we have the Beginner's Guide. If you're new to WoW and just starting out, this is where you should start reading. Key concepts of making gold are explained here, without these you'll have a hard time.
Auction House
The next part of the guide is the Auction House guide. First off, you get an introduction to a handful of tools that facilitate the use of the Auction House. These are plugins you install that give you extra features the original Warcraft client does not provide. Very useful stuff. After that the guide gives you an in-depth view of the Auction House and how to use it to make a profit. It covers buying and selling, using the plugins and macros, etc. All in all you get a solid 37 pages of insider secrets the the core of the Warcraft economy.
Grinding Guide
Next up: The Grinding Guide. Grinding is the basic task of killing creatures or mobs and collecting the stuff they drop when they are killed. These items can then be sold for a profit. The problem with grinding is that it gets boring pretty quickly. That's where this part of the guide comes in: it shows you several alternatives to grinding that take the bore out of the process, such as instance runs, solo instances, stealth groups or vanity items. It also goes into detail on gathering motes and turning them into primals, a concept introduced to the Warcraft world with the Burning Crusade addon. Finally, you'll learn how to farm for cloth and how to farm for reputation. The Grinding Guide weighs in at 51 pages and is nicely enhanced through the use of color maps and reference links to Thottbot.
One other thing to take note of is the unadvertised bonus guide to the best grinding spots. This secret guide is a step-by-step recipe for grinding you character from level 1 to 70 and has color maps for all grinding locations.
Profession Guide
The Profession Guide is a 26-page guide to all the WoW professions you can chose for your character. You learn how to speed level and how to maximize the gold you earn with each profession.
Bonus Guides
The first bonus guide is about fishing and how to level this profession and make gold. The second bonus guide is an extensive, 41-page guide detailing exactly how to level each profession from 1 to 375.
Summary
All in all this package contains everything you need to succeed in World of Warcraft and make gold at will. You'll learn how to get your characters to higher levels and how to use each profession's special abilities to farm gold and which spots are the best to do so.
