Introduction
Gold Secrets consists of 4 separate PDF files: the main guide, the Auctioneer's Resource, the Grinding Guide and Fishing Facts. We'll take a look at each of these guide below.
Main Guide
The main guide has 172 pages and is where you'll find all the gold making tips and tricks. There are roughly 70 tips on the original World of Warcraft game, 60 tips for The Burning Crusade and 6 tips for the recent 2.3 patch.
Unfortunately, the guide is structured rather badly: there is a table of contents, but there are no real chapters whatsoever. The guide is merely separated into tips for the original game and The Burning Crusade. Apart from that it's just one tip after the other, all the way through the guide. And to make things worse, the table of contents isn't linked so you have to manually jump to the page in question and pages are not numbered, so you'll have a hard time finding things if you decide to print the guide.
Auctioneer's Resource
The Auctioneer's Resource is a 6-page guide to the Auctioneer plugin and using the Auction House. The info provided is pretty basic but will give you a good introduction if you've never used the plugin or the Auction House before.
Fishing Facts
The Fishing Facts guide is a 24-page guide on the secondary profession of fishing. It's a complete resource for maxing the fishing profession. You'll learn the ins and outs of the fishing profession and also get a list of fishing trainers and suppliers and their locations. Lure types, skill levels, equipment and general strategies are all covered, both for Horde and for Alliance.
Grinding Guide
If you're out to grind you character up the levels, the 7-page Grinding Guide is your roadmap. This guide lists the best locations for grinding, divided into the different level ranges.
Summary
Gold Secrets has me on the fence. While the tips contained are useful and make the guide worthwhile, the guide leaves several things to wish for: a linked table of contents, and index, chapters etc. - things that could easily be added. And while all these things are basically "cosmetic" in nature, they add to the overall impression of the product.
So, is Gold Secrets better than Valkor's Gold Making Guide? The short answer is: not really. For me, Valkor is still the number 1 gold making guide for many reasons (read my review to learn why). Gold Secrets isn't all that bad, but for the same price you get a lot more bang for the buck with Valkor's guide.
